The University of Georgia Skidaway Institute of Oceanography will present an “Open Lab Night” as part of its Evening @ Skidaway series on Tuesday, Aug 13. Visitors will have the opportunity to visit informally with scientists in their laboratories. The program will begin with a reception at 6:30 p.m., followed by lab visits until 8 p.m. at 10 Ocean Science Circle, Savannah, GA 31411.
The scientists participating in the program will include physical oceanographer Catherine Edwards, who uses underwater gliders to help improve hurricane predictions and marine chemist Jay Brandes who is studying the prevalence of microplastics in Georgia’s coastal waters.
