Frank is a PhD student in Dr. Edwards’ lab, co-advised by Dr. Woodson in the UGA College of Engineering. Frank uses autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) to study the coastal reef soundscape. His current work focuses on modeling active and passive sound propagation in complex noisy environments and has collaborated with Gray’s Reef National Marine Sanctuary to study their acoustic telemetry network of moorings and tagged fish, tracking when and where transmissions are detected. He continues to deploy, retrieve, pilot, and troubleshoot AUVs.

Frank has a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Oceanography from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ, and hopes to graduate with his PhD in Engineering in 2025.
